Article Snippet: Subsequently, the slides were oxidized for 5 min using an oxidizing agent and stained with Schiff reagent for 10 min. For immunohistochemistry, sections were deparaffinized, rehydrated, and subjected to antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6.0) at 95 °C for 20 min. Endogenous peroxidase was quenched with 3 % hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) and blocked with 5 % normal serum, and incubated overnight at 4 °C with an anti-4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) primary antibody (1:200, bs-6313R, Bioss, China).
